where can I change my Twitter name? For me it is linked forever “wpburn”
@Andreas, go to FollowMe Settings page (wp-admin -> Settings -> FollowMe Settings)
Hi,
I’m facing the same problems as Andreas. The follow me badge exists but it directs me to ‘WPBurn’. Any suggestions on how we could change this? Thanks!
It worked like a charm and I love it! Thanks a million.
@Rahul Sen, why don’t you all read the “How to use it” section of the above post ?
Is so simple.Just add your twitter username on plugin settings page.
I installed this plugin directly form the WP dashboard, activated it, stuck in my Twitter info, and nothing appears on my blog. No badge on the side of the page. Nothing.
Any suggestions?
@Doug, try the wp_footer fix. For more details read the “Not working on your blog ?” section of this post.
Oops, I completely missed that. All fixed now. Thank you.
This is a nice add on. Would you happen to have one for RSS?
Sorry, but I have one last question. Is it possible to add my own graphic for the Twitter button, and if so where would I put that for it to work?
Thanks.
I don’t have one for RSS but maybe I’ll make one on the next version of the plugin.
You can edit the follow-me.png image from the plugin directory.Be sure you keep the size of the image to not mess up the look.
Where is the plugin directory?
wp-content/plugins/wp-followme/
Ok, but where do I go from there? Is it a php file? CSS?
I said to edit the follow-me.png image so is a image not a php file.
Get the image through ftp (wp-content/plugins/wp-followme/follow-me.png) or save it from your browser.
The image is a png (transparent background) and have almost all content white so will look pretty weird on the browser because of the white background of the browser.Download the image(right click and save as), open it on your favorite graphic editor and edit it (I suggest you to add a temporary background layer with a color different from white to see better the image content). After you edit the image save it and upload it through ftp to /wp-content/plugins/wp-followme/follow-me.png
That’s it!
Hope I was clear enough.
Ah, ok, now I get it. Sorry about that. I was having a senior moment. Thanks for the explanation.
Doug C. A visited your site 🙂 nice design and caracters…
There is no Settings to click on on this plugin.
Thanks! Looks nice, works well, very easy to setup without any instructions, though you do provide nice detailed help. Just wanted you to know.
The only thing that will make this better is when you have time to get an update out that allows FaceBook (and perhaps other tabs?)
When you do, having the ability to ‘space’ between the tabs like you do for the Twitter tab would be nice.
Best wishes,
@mtorcitymac, go to wp-admin -> Settings tab -> FollowMe Settings
Hi,
I downloaded and installed the plugin. Initially I had some problems. I came back to post some questions, but found the answers by following the previous one. Still, I found myself in the same position as Doug C. did.
While your programming skills seem to be exceptional, you sure could use some people skills in your writing approach to providing customer service to people who use your products.
Look, all of us are professionals in our own niche. But not all of us know the intricacies of technology, programming, php files, css, or anything that has to do with other than downloading and activating a plugin.
Your sometimes terse responses belied that efficacy of what you had to say. If you get agitated that you have to clarify what you think outta be clear to a neophite, stick to programming an outsource comment moderation.
By the way, I got the plug-in to work and it is dynamite. Great work.
Hope that was clear.
Working on the next version of WP FollowMe plugin.
Hope with the next version all issues will be fixed.
BTW what do you guys think if the new version will be with flash instead of images? With flash I can give you more customizing options.
I found your plugin to be the best option for me and my site. The reason why is I didn’t want to waste sidebar space with some Twitter box. So for people like me this is an excellent way to provide a link to your Twitter page without cluttering up your sidebar area.
I would say Flash based would be a good idea as long as it doesn’t conflict with other plugins and apps being used on people’s sites. And as long as people who are complete coding n00bs (like me) can change settings and other options with ease.
I would also recommend offering people some other images to use with the plugin, besides just having a colors option. If you want to discuss some designs for that just visit my site and shoot me a message and we can discuss it.
Thanks again for a great plugin 🙂
Thanks for plugin. I like it so much.
it’s simply cool and I’m using it.

Your theme haven’t the wp_footer() function.
Just added it to your theme in footer.php and now is working.
@admin : Thank you so much admin 🙂 Gonna blog about this plugin soon.

zamaan.
Hi, nice plugin 🙂
But, what’s the change in 1.3.0? (maybe you could update the changelog)
It looks great on the screenshots, but it doesn’t appear on this page in Firefox 3.5 or Chromium, on Ubuntu, just so you know.
Thanks you so much…
I use this plugins for my blog
@Harry, there is no 1.3.0 version. You mean 0.1.3.I’ll update the change log at the next update, there was just small updates for compatibility.
@Mathias Hellquist, there wasn’t any badge yet.I’ve disabled it for some time. Now it appear again.
easy peezy install. thanks
Still not working… this’s my footer.php
So, where i should put the code?
Thx…
I see the plugin working on your blog.
Hi, I’m a non-techie too and find it so frustrating when people say just go to ……. without any explanation about where to find ….. I solved it and it’s so simple and that’s probably why the programmer doesn’t think he/she needs to tell you. So for those people who are as technically challenged as me!!! After you’ve insalled it there’s a ‘settings’ button on the left hand side in the dashboard (where you edit the posts etc). It’s at the bottom, on mine it’s after tools and in dark grey. It has a drop down menu – open it and at the bottom you’ll find a followme settings button. Click on it and fill in your details on the page that appears. All done. xx
iwant to change the color of background like blue, light blue.
so u tell me about process of it.
wp-admin panel -> Settngs -> FollowMe Settings
My follow-me tag isn’t mine but it’s wpburn1 Is there a way I can change it to mine?
I can’t seem to get it to work on my blog. I can see this though “JS is off”, but it’s not off. I’ve checked in my Firefox settings. I can see it on this site though.
Any ideas?
Thank you 🙂
Easy peasey install – minor issue to resolve in order to get it to show (wrote the theme without the footer function – doh!).
When ‘free’ is this good it is difficult to complain – keep up the good work!
Hey there.
I love this idea, but I can’t seem to make it work on my blog. I already did the update to my footer.php fie. Any suggestions as to what else I can try?
Hi! Great plug!, very nice the color-s selector, what about to change the *follow me-us* slogan?
I do mean where shall I look for without messing up to change the *follow* in the correspondent word in a different language.
Thanks bytheway, it is really useful
Nice plugin!! It works great, I’m considering whether it works better on the right or stacked on the left with the tweetboard tab.
Nice plugin!! It works great, I’m considering whether it works better on the right or stacked on the left with the tweetboard tab.
I don’t have a ‘settings’ page. I just have the option to go the ‘edit’ section of the Follow Me plugin. From there I just see tons of code. I’ve tried changing the wpburn entries to my own, and changing the ‘account id’ to my own, but it doesn’t seem to work.
I think the settings page might be only available to people who have a theme that allows them to edit their page visually. I don’t have one of those, so I have to just change the code. Does anyone know how to do it by changing the code?
Nice looking plugin but when I minimise or tile my screen the widget disappears, I notice on your site if I minimse the screen in the same way it does’t so it is obviously not a browser issue, so possibly the theme I am using, any tips?
I deleted this plugin and just made my own Twitter bird.
